Marty is back in 1985 to discover a new and full life with his parents, George and Lorraine, and his girlfriend Jennifer. After traveling back in time, he is ready to embark on his new possibilities. Out of nowhere, Doc Brown is back from the future. He tells Marty there is a problem with his and Jennifer’s children. He has to go forward to 2015 to save his children and fix the future. With Jennifer in tow, Marty learns that Marty Jr will get arrested and spend 15 years in prison. Later, Marty’s daughter will try to break Marty Jr out and get 20 years in prison. Then, Doc Brown will be committed to an institution. With a little (yes, very little) finesse, Marty is able to fix the single event but makes a mistake. He buys a Sports Almanac and leaves it for Biff to find. Biff steals DeLorean and goes back in time to his 1955 self to give the Sports Almanac to young Biff. Unknowing of Biff’s actions, Marty travels back to 1985, but everything has changed. Doc realizes going to 2015 won’t help because the future has changed. So they must go back to 1955 to stop 2015’s Biff from handing the Almanac to 1955’s Biff.
A true continuous on Back To The Future, this movie starts 1 minute before the last movie ended. While it’s fun and provokes thought, it wasn’t as attention grabbing as the first. This could be the effect of “that doesn’t exist now” or “they were so wrong” feeling while watching the movie. However, a few of the inventions exist in one form or another. Some of the jokes are flat but the great camera work and editing make up for those flaws. This is an enjoyable movie for kids 13 and up. So sit back and enjoy this time bending tale. And yes, it does end on a cliff hanger.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars
