Becoming Santa – Lifetime – 2 hours 2 minutes
Conner, a toy maker, and Holly, a vet, are in love. Conner wants to pop the question but only with Holly’s father’s permission. So after a little arm twisting, Holly decides that Conner should meet her parents. But what Conner doesn’t know … Holly’s father is Santa Claus. It isn’t long before Holly’s parents realize that Conner knows nothing about their work or that Holly has special gifts of her own. And just when you think things can’t get crazier, Holly’s ex-boyfriend, Jack Frost, comes by to check out Conner and do a little scheming of his own. Holly must work up the nerve to tell Conner the truth and see how much of the family name he is willing to take on.
This movie has some good laughs and gives a mix of holiday stories (Santa Clause, Santa Clause 3, a little Family Stone). However, you are left with a few questions at the end. It seems like a set up for Becoming Santa 2 in December 2016. The Jack Frost character is a reminder of Martin Short’s Jack Frost in Santa Clause 3. For the Lifetime and holiday fans, this is a great movie to watch. It would even be great to watch twice to catch the little nuances you miss the first time around. The 2 hours were filled with laughs, talking to the screen, and questions about where the story will go next year.
For the Christmas fan: I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars
For the Lifetime fan: I give it 4 out of 5 stars
For everyone else: I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars
Bah Humbug. You give me his full name and I will put him on the naughty list – Mrs. Claus
