The Jealous Bride – Review

The Jealous Bride – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Meg gets texts with directions to a spot. Her boyfriend, Josh, runs up to her and says she missed it. She states that she followed his text, but he didn’t send it. He brushes off the incident and walks Meg over to her proposal. Josh gets on one knee and asks Meg to marry him. She says yes.

Later, they throw a party to celebrate their engagement with their married friends Tracy and Rich. When Tracy sees women flirting with Josh, she runs to Meg’s side. She assures Meg that Josh isn’t flirting back and tells her friend to relax. Meg stalked her lover’s wife in the past and almost lost everything trying to earn his love. Tracy warns Meg that Josh isn’t her ex-lover, so she should focus on the future. Meg agrees, walks over to Josh, and pulls him away from the women.

Josh and Rich laugh about marriage at work when their boss, Jerry, approaches Josh. They have a new lawyer at the office, and he wants Josh to mentor her. Quarterly reviews are coming up soon, and this mentorship could affect his bonus. Josh concedes and meets his mentee, Simone. He flashes back to the past. Simone was the stripper who danced for him at Rich’s bachelor party. When Jerry exits, they acknowledge their past but agree never to bring it up in a way that would affect her job or his marriage.

Josh, Meg, Rich, and Tracy go to dinner, and Simone saddles up to their table. She giggles, converses, and leaves. But something rubs Meg the wrong way. Meg thinks Simone acts too comfortable with Josh. Later, Meg helps Josh unpack his things and finds a picture of him with Simone. He admits that he knew her before, but it wasn’t a big deal. He cuts up the picture to prove it. Meg pretends to let it go.

As they sleep, she hears a noise downstairs. Meg walks to the front door and finds it unlocked. She opens the door and spies someone running away. Meg locks the door, finds the picture fragments, and tapes them together. She knows Simone is a threat. Meg will do anything to keep Josh’s love. But is she right to fear Simone, or is Meg’s jealousy driving her crazy?

You can’t miss the film’s opening sequence. It introduces Meg’s unhinged past and someone’s obsession with her. Unlike other Lifetime films, none of the leads are inherently good. Meg is insecure, Josh lies by omission, and Simone feeds into both. The audience will beg them to call off the wedding. The writers made Tracy the voice of reason. She calls Meg out for her bad behavior and tries to rein her in. This film has a religious aspect, but it’s not the driving force. This movie has a great pace and plenty of crazy to go around. The conclusion leaves the script open for a part two, but it’s not necessary.

I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars

Deadly Destination Wedding – Review

Deadly Destination Wedding – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Rachel’s boyfriend, Daniel, proposes, and she says no. She isn’t ready to lose herself in a marriage. Also, her career isn’t where she wants it to be. Daniel tries to convince her, but they break up. Rachel meets her friend, Emma, at the bridal shop. Emma can see Rachel is down and questions her. After hearing what transpired. Emma offers to call the hotel and arrange for Rachel to land a week early. She can relax and enjoy the amenities before Emma weds Chris.

Rachel sits at the terminal when a man, Billy, asks if anyone is sitting in the seat across from her. They spark a quick conversation and laugh because they are attending the same wedding. He’s long-time friends with Chris. Billy wants to wait to converse so they can have something to talk about at the resort.

Rachel meets the resort manager, Nigel, and the hospitality specialist, Evan. Nigel gives Rachel a free upgrade before Evan walks her to her room. Later, she meets with Billy, and they have a magical time together. All that changes when someone breaks into her room and moves her things. Rachel reports it to the security officer, Wes, and Nigel, but they offer little comfort and Prosecco. Billy can’t believe Nigel won’t ease her mind, but they won’t let it dampen their time together. However, a missing passport, an unexpected guest, a secret, and a missing, dead body will change the direction of this destination wedding. Can Rachel uncover the truth?

The only nice thing about this film is that the actors tried their best. The script was boring, the climax was pointless, and the final monologue was ridiculous. Viewers will pray for someone to die during this film. Also, you will want Daniel to leave Rachel behind. This movie’s pace drags like a dead body. And you will beg for it to be over. This destination wedding isn’t deadly, just annoying and inconvenient. Lifetimers can skip this film and do something more productive.

I give it 1.5 out of 5 stars

You can and you will – Emma

Just don’t get into any trouble without me – Billy

Tempted – Review

Tempted – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Lawyer Steven invites his latest date, Lottie, to dinner with his friend and co-worker Rick and Rick’s wife Julia. They laugh, talk about vacations, and their college past. Steven calls a rideshare and asks Lottie to accompany him. However, Lottie is having too much fun with Rick and Julia. She entices them with more Bali tales if they stay and keep her company.

Rick and Julia take Lottie home to show her Julia’s artwork. Lottie spies paintings of a nude woman and suggests that it expresses Julia’s inner desires. Julia admits that she and Rick talked about adding a third, but never expanded on the conversation. Lottie kisses Julia, and Rick enters. They ask him to join in.

Rick and Julia wake up in bed together. They believe last night was fun, but once was enough. They enter the kitchen and surprisingly find Lottie cooking breakfast. She considers herself their missing piece. Julia hands the aspiring artist her business card and subtly asks her to leave. They believe they’ve seen the last of Lottie. However, she has a bigger plan in mind. She wants revenge, but not against them. She plans to seize control of her childhood home from her abusive brother Michael. Rick and Julia are a means to an end. Will Lottie get it all?

While this movie is salacious, its flashbacks make the storytelling confusing. The audience is unsure how the stories connect. In fact, the writers don’t explain why, even when there is a dead body on the ground. You have to piece it together yourself. However, it’s the final minute that will leave your jaw on the ground. It becomes apparent who’s pulling the strings. Although the editor did remove some of the foul language, this movie is too much for younger viewers because of the sexual scenes. This thriller is confusing and has a few shocking moments, but doesn’t require viewers to cancel their plans. Its saving grace is the conclusion.

I give it 3 out of 5 stars

Nothing nice about my family. I’m pretty sure we’re cursed – Michael

Art is a reflection of our true desires – Lottie

What you saw the other night was unusual – Julia

What a wild coincidence – Rick

The Greek Aisle – Review

The Greek Aisle – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Georgia doesn’t want to sort through her chaos before a big meeting. However, her business partner, Rose, needs Georgia to prepare for it. Georgia pulls out a manila envelope and wonders if it’s important. Rose believes the red lettering is a strong indication. Georgia doesn’t understand legalese and asks Rose to skim the document. Rose reads the document and summarizes that Georgia must settle under Aunt Margaret’s Greek estate by next week or forfeit her inheritance. Margaret left Georgia her house a year ago. Georgia knew she would get the house and counted on using the money from the sale to pay back their business loan. Georgia calls Margaret’s lawyer, Cora, and discovers she must go to Greece to settle the will. Georgia apologizes to Rose because they have an important pitch coming up soon. She promises to work on it in Greece and return home to present it.

Alex wants to be a detective, but Greece’s forces are privately funded. So he knows his resumé is on a pile of others. Alex doesn’t know how to get the CEO’s attention. He heard that his college friend, Georgia, is returning. Alex had a crush on her but never expressed his feelings. He arrives at Margaret’s estate and sees Georgia inside. He offers to help her get settled in, but his boxes will arrive soon because he’s moving in. Georgia doesn’t understand. Cora explains that Margaret left the estate to both of them. Georgia must sell it, but Alex wants to stay. He offers to buy her out. Cora advises that it won’t be easy. Real estate can only be sold between citizens or people married to citizens. Georgia blurts out that they should get married. Then, she can sell her portion to Alex, get an annulment, and go home. Alex tells her it will take a month for Greece to recognize their marriage, and they must complete a home interview. Georgia calls Rose and tells her the week-long trip will be a month-long. But it will guarantee they get the necessary funds. Rose agrees, and Alex gets down on one knee. Georgia is ready to advertise her fake marriage. But what happens when her feelings become real?

This film is reminiscent of Proposal with a Greek spin. Georgia even jokes that she wants a small, thin Greek wedding (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). It’s that self-deprecating humor that makes you fall in love with this romantic comedy. It’s witty and introspective. The writers made Georgia a complex character. She’s flighty but fears her dreams because she doesn’t want to disappoint her parents. Alex needs someone with boundless energy to push him to his dreams, making him fearless. It makes them the perfect couple for each other. The food, culture, and people endear viewers to his historical island. While the stories of the magical grove are fabricated, they add fun and mystique to the film. This film is the best of the 2026 Summer Nights slate.

I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars

I prefer to call it ‘alternative order’ – Georgia

Please don’t do that – Rose

Fair or not, it is what she promised me – Alex
