Jack – The Pumpkin King of Halloween Town – adores the tricks and treats of the townspeople.  And the townspeople love Jack and revolves around his example for the best “Halloween goals”.  Even though Jack is the best, he has grown tired of doing the same thing over and over again.  He wants more.  As he walks around, he stumbles on Christmastown.  He sees warmth, love, and joy, unlike anything he has ever experienced before.  This is so new to him that he wants to bring it to Halloween town.  But having the town spread Christmas joy isn’t enough for Jack.  He wants to be the crown prince of Christmas: Santa Claus.  So, he has children kidnap Santa and decides to take Santa’s place.  Jack spreads Christmas joy with a Halloween twist.  But when Sally hears his plan, she knows it will go horribly wrong.

This computer-animated, claymation, musical is fun for all ages.  While the storyline is not new, the way its presented adds a new flair.  There is so much to see, you will have to watch it more than once.  It’s easy to see how this movie has become a Halloween classic.  It gives the lesson of the “grass is always greener” but to appreciate what you have.  It’s a fun tale for children with laughs for adults.

I give it 3 out of 5 stars
