Eggsy a.k.a. Galahad walks out of the Kingsman Tailor shop to see Charlie, a former Kingsman trainee. Before Eggsy can blink the two are in a full octane fight that becomes fatal. However, Eggsy makes it out but leaves Charlie’s robotic are behind. The arm is remotely operated by Poppy, who uses it to hack into the Kingsman and get all of their locations. In a few keystrokes Poppy kill all but 2 Kingsmen. The Doomsday Protocol is activated and leads the surviving members to a bottle of Statesman Whiskey. That bottle is a one-way ticket to Kentucky, USA.
In the forest of Cambodia, sits the richest woman in the world, Poppy. However, Poppy is angry because she doesn’t have freedom or fame. Poppy believes that the world should know she is the most successful woman in the world. So why don’t they know? Because she is the biggest drug dealer in the world. Now, Poppy will change that. She has laced all her drugs with a poison. The poison has 4 stages:
- A Blue Rash – spread throughout the entire body
- Mania – dancing and laughing hysterically
- Paralysis – frozen in place
- Death – once the paralysis hits the throat, breathing will cease (this happens within 12 hours of stage 3)
Poppy has an antidote, but for a price. First, she wants all drugs to be legal. So, she can be admired and respected for being a great businesswoman. Second, Poppy and all her minions will get full immunity. What is the point of success, if you don’t have freedom. If the president complies, her drones will release the antidote all over the world. Eggsy and the Statesman will need to work together to take Poppy down.
Based on the comic series, The Secret Service: Kingsman, this movie is funny, twisted, and action heavy (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). Most movies use action to deflect from a lack of script, but this is not the case with Kingsman. The script is strong, new and interesting characters are introduced, a deeper connection is made with old characters, and jokes are well placed. It does help to see the first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, before seeing this movie (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). You will see a lot of references to the first movie and extended jokes. Now the only downfall was the increase of CGI enhancement to the fights. Of course, some CGI would be necessary. However, it felt like the CGI was more relied upon than the last film. It takes away from the overall feel. This movie is a steal at the full price and no need to stay after the credits. After this movie, you will look at hamburgers, butterflies, lassos, and Cameo’s Word Up in a whole new light (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). Enjoy and don’t be HKLP.

Laura is enjoying college life with her friends Lizzy, Liv, and Kobe. Laura’s boyfriend Tyler and Lizzy’s boyfriend Gustav may not be close but they still hang out with the group. Laura and Liv go to class and learn that their classmate Marina committed suicide and live streamed it online. Some students were able to download it but if they share it the school will suspend them. As the teacher talks about suicide prevention, Laura thinks back to 2 weeks ago. Laura was at lunch with her friends and saw a lonely girl staring at a computer screen. She just smiled. The girl later sends Laura a friend request. Laura looks at a few Marina’s post and accepts her request. Laura is Marina’s first friend on Facebook. Marina starts flooding Laura’s with calls, messages, and comments. Laura feels bad for her but wants space, so she lies about her party being for 2. When Marina sees the post of the party, she snaps and confronts Laura. She screams and pleads for her friendship. Later that night, Laura unfriends her. Marina commits suicide. Soon, Laura’s account is highjacked and post horrific are displayed. Laura tries to delete the post and her account but it doesn’t work. One by one Laura is losing her virtual and real friends.
This movie has a strong Lifetime movie start. Being nice to the creepy person and they turn nuts. But as the blood and gore start, they decided to look into Marina’s past. This investigation will bring the storyline back to witches, mirrors, and wasps. It falls into the horror genre cliche and loses its edge. This one can be skipped until it’s on TV.
