Bob and Emir have worked on several cases to bring down the Colombian drug cartel. Then Bob gets an idea. Instead of following the drugs to get to the dealers, they should follow the money. The two agents go undercover with Kathy, newbie to undercover work, to take down the drug cartel by pretending to be money launders and an engaged couple. As they work their way up the totem pole, they need to watch out for sneaky informants, close calls, and getting too deep. You have no idea what they will discover when the fall down the rabbit hole. But can they climb out of it?
Based on the “real life events” book The Infiltrator: My Secret Life Inside the Dirty Banks Behind Pablo Escobar’s Medellín Cartel, this movie does not glamorize the drug business nor undercover work (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). It’s strong lead character goes through every human emotion and manages to keep his cool. There are moments of lull, which are broken by abrupt acts of violence. Although this movie runs a little long, its still good to watch for a matinee.
