The Inherited – LMN – 2 hours 0 minutes

Newlyweds, Eve and Tom move into Tom’s inherited home. Eve, an aspiring cookbook author, starts to make this house a home by exploring the town, decorating, and getting to know the maid, Mrs. Menabar. Just when Eve and Tom start considering an addition to their family, Eve starts to feel ill. Eve gets sick, has blurry vision, can’t sleep, and is hearing things. The townspeople “happily” inform Eve that Tom’s first wife had the same symptoms before she died. Also, they inform Eve of the origins of the house, Tom’s past, and the questionable death of this first wife. How much are you willing to inherit for the person you love?

This movie slow set up is reminiscent of The Others (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). It’s tough to keep your interest but it’s worth it for the climax. Although you may figure out the cause of Eve’s problems, you can’t begin to imagine the resolution. Just hold strong through the 1st hour and it will make the 2nd worth it.
