Mac and Kelly get great news, they are going to have a second child. So, they decided to sell their home and buy a bigger one. They find buyers but learn they are in escrow. However, their new home is not in escrow because they wanted their realtor “to do whatever it took to buy it”. So, as long as their buyers don’t have any concerns and back out in 30 days, their home will be sold. Otherwise, Mac and Kelly will have 2 mortgages and 2 children. On the other side of town, Shelby, a freshman, learns that only fraternities can throw parties on campus. She attends the party but hates that they are disgusting and sexist. She gets together with Beth and Nora and decides to start a sorority off campus and have the parties they want to attend. Step one in their plan is get a house. At first the girls don’t know how they can pull it off, but they get help from an unlikely house mother, Teddy. Teddy is still bitter that he has a police record, which is keeping him from getting a good job and he blames Mac and Kelly. So he works with the girls to get a house for their sorority, Kappa Nu. Guess where they decided to move. That’s right. Next to Mac and Kelly. Remember the 30 day escrow? Mac and Kelly beg the girls to keep it down just for 30 days but when the girls don’t listen, the Neighbor Wars start again. Who will be the last house standing?
Although the exposition is the same, this is a different movie. However, you will need to see the first movie, Neighbors, to understand Teddy’s need for revenge, airbag jokes, and “Bros before Hoes” (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). This movie isn’t better than the first … it’s not worst than the first. It’s just as good. The fans of the first movie will not be disappointed. It is definitely a matinee movie when you need a good, easy laugh. These girls are sugar and spice and nothing nice … they really give the frat boys, in part 1, a run for their money.
I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars
