True Justice: Eye for an Eye – Review

True Justice: Eye for an Eye – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Liam gets a tip from PJ about Sharon’s case. PJ believes Sharon was falsely accused of murdering Katherine and dragging her body into the snow. The police uncovered that Sharon and Katherine were part of the Parent School Coalition, or PSC. This board is one of the largest fundraisers for the school and holds unmitigated power. Sharon became disenfranchised when Katherine’s daughter bullied hers, triggering an extreme asthma attack. Sharon decided to join the coalition and dethrone President Katherine. Other members accused Sharon of being enraged and an addict. The team decides to examine PJ’s files before taking the case.

Liam, Sarah, Casey, and Eli read through the reports. PSC member Cherelle witnessed Katherine and Sharon fighting a lot, Kimber made scathing remarks about Sharon in the press, and Tarik discussed Sharon’s drug abuse. To make matters worse, Katherine’s husband, Austin, is best friends with the DA. He got Sharon’s case fast-tracked through the system. The one person on Sharon’s side is her husband, Dave. He stated to the police that his wife never used drugs and was a dedicated wife and mother. After reviewing the case files, the Justice Warriors believe Sharon is innocent, but can they prove it?

The Justice Warriors can do it all. They infiltrate, collect evidence, run diagnostics, and solve the crime. Luckily, they understand the law and how to get around it. Liam finds a way to enter a home without breaking and entering. This mystery is not without drama. The PSC is a Greek tragedy waiting to happen. The only thing missing from this organization was an affair. The crime is easy to follow, and the plot offers a murder board from the beginning. These students work with their professor and legal experts to stay on track. However, showing the after effects of being falsely accused is the film’s most honest aspect. Casey’s brother, Marcus, fights to keep his head above water after regaining his freedom. He still needs to find his footing and purpose in life while Casey hovers over him like a helicopter parent. This viewpoint will only strengthen the Warriors’ resolve. Also, viewers get 3 love stories. This installment is as strong as the first and guarantees more wonderful additions in the future. This movie is something you want to keep on your DVR to watch again.

Everyone Has Something to Hide – Review

Everyone Has Something to Hide – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Kathy and her son, Noah, escape her abusive husband, Dan, with the help of her friend, Brooke. Brooke introduces Noah to her son, Ethan. They play together and become fast friends. Six years later, Noah composes music for the band, and Ethan is a high school football star. Band leader Mr. Driscoll sees a bright future for Noah and himself, while Coach Travis thinks nothing can stop Ethan. Noah and Ethan stopped being friends after Ethan’s girlfriend, Maddie, broke up with him and started dating Noah. And Maddie’s former friend, Blair, blames Maddie for their friendship ending.

Kathy works as a realtor but always looks over her shoulder for Dave. One night, the alarm at one of her properties triggers, but she ignores it. She knows Noah is there having a party. She decides to deal with him in the morning. At the party, Maddie asks Noah to come to the back patio. Soon, Ethan enters. At first, the two get along, but their camaraderie ends with Noah hitting Ethan.

Kathy arrives at the property to check the damage in the morning. She finds Ethan’s dead body in a chair on the back patio. She can’t believe it and calls the police. Later, the detectives arrive to question Noah. Before Kathy answers the door, she finds blood on Noah’s coat. Then, she listens as he lies to the police. After they leave, Kathy confronts Noah about his deception. He swears he didn’t do it, but rages like his father. Kathy believes him and will fight the town to prove his innocence. Who killed Ethan?

This movie is a strong mystery with several curveballs to keep Lifetimers watching. Soon, everyone will be a suspect to you. They are either too helpful, not helpful enough, or strange. However, the conclusion becomes predictable when someone falls ill. Slowly, you can unmask the killer but not the motive. Thankfully, Lifetimers will solve the case with Kathy. You will be glued to the TV to prove your suspicions correct. The final conclusion wraps up all the characters, their future, and the consequences. This film is not the best Lifetime mystery, but it deserves your uninterrupted attention.

Friends Until the End – Review

Friends Until the End – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Jules invites her friends Ellie, Taryn, Mya, and Amey to their annual brunch at an off-the-grid estate. Amey calls Taryn because she’s concerned about Jules hosting. Last year, Jules didn’t show up because her family lost their money, and she suffered emotionally and financially in her divorce. So, Jules missed the last brunch, and they slowly distanced themselves from her. Taryn is not concerned because the newlywed is ready for a fun night out. Crisis manager Mya and new mom Ellie share Amey’s concerns but choose to go for some fun with friends. The women arrive in separate cars and walk around the palatial estate. They quip about Jules Pinterest decorations.

Jules appears and invites them to the dining room table. During brunch, Jules takes slight digs at everyone after ignoring her for a year. She leaves the table, and the others roll their eyes at her dramatic nature. After talking amongst themselves, the women look for Jules. They find her dead in her room with red residue in her champagne glass. They panic and point fingers at each other. Then, they try to call for help, but their phones don’t have a signal. The staff left, and the concrete fence is too tall to climb. While they argue, Kersten enters. Kersten stopped attending these brunches years ago, but Jules invited her. They run out the door to catch her car, but it’s too late. They explain the situation to Kersten and take her to Jules’s room to show her the body. However, the body is gone. Someone is in the house and playing puppet master. Will they survive?

This film is the perfect display of a victim mentality. The culprit has a slight with every woman in the room, but they had a hand in their demise. Lifetimers will cringe at their annoying college squabbles. One phone call or blocking a number could fix all their disagreements. Luckily, the script allows them to push aside petty issues and focus on actual problems. They admit their faults and promise to be better. The conclusion is heartwarming, but the plot mirrors Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, without the blood, gore, and death. Lifetimers should watch this film when they have time off and a high tolerance for nonsense.

Faith and Forgiveness: A Duck Dynasty Love Story – Review

Faith and Forgiveness: A Duck Dynasty Love Story – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Lisa dreamed of meeting a prince and living happily ever after like her favorite fairytales. The moment she met Alan, she thought he would be her Prince Charming. Years later, he sees her in school and asks her out on a date. They share ice cream and fall in love. Lisa knows Alan has a reputation for drinking and womanizing, but she’s been in love with him for years. After graduation, Alan gets drunk and throws glass bottles at the scoreboard. The police arrest him and bring him to his parents, Phil and Mrs. Kay. They decide to send Alan away to force him to focus on faith and rebuilding his life. Alan and Lisa promise to remain faithful to each other until he returns.

Alan stops contacting his family and Lisa while away. Mrs. Kay calls Alan’s aunt to check on him. Lisa overhears that he’s on a date with another girl and decides to break their arrangement. She starts dating other guys and becomes pregnant. Her mother convinces Lisa to end her pregnancy and complete high school. After 18 months, Alan returns with a battered face and body. He was caught with another man’s wife. Alan asks Lisa for a second chance. She tells him about her mistakes, but he already knew. They get married, and Lisa thinks happily ever after starts now. However, she will discover that fairytales aren’t real and relationships require faith and forgiveness.

Surprisingly, this film is for everyone, even people who aren’t fans of Duck Dynasty. In the script, Lisa doesn’t apply the halo effect to her actions. She takes accountability for her misgivings and lets everyone know her mistakes. The clothing, makeup, and hair perfectly fit the era. And the actors’ accents were spot-on. Also, the film shows Lisa’s role in the dynasty’s success. This picture is a warning to anyone who does good to please people. It teaches you to focus on yourself to grow your relationship with your faith. This movie is for Lifetimers who need a love-and-faith break from the mayhem.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars

Did I say you can sit down – Lisa

I think I deserve it – Alan
