Loid, a spy and master of disguise, takes pictures of top-secret documents and escapes. He returns home to his wife, Yor, and daughter, Anya. Yor, a spy and assassin, completed her mission and killed a traitor. Loid and Yor agreed to their façade marriage and never exchanged their real names. Loid adopted Anya from a local orphanage to look like a loving family. Yor and Loid don’t know that Anya can read minds. And they got a dog, Bond, to round out their cover story. Only Anya knows Bond can see the future. Loid spies on Anya’s class to maintain an advantage in her studies. Then, a bird drops a note from the sky, asking him to return to headquarters. Loid’s boss wants to pull him off Operations Strix and replace him. Loid knows his replacement is incompetent but must prepare to lose his family. Loid leaves and bumps into another spy, Nightfall. Nightfall secretly loves Loid and wants to replace Yor as his wife. Loid catches Nightfall’s hat before it blows away, and they politely converse before Loid goes home. Loid doesn’t know that Yor saw him from the roof of a building as she and her friends discuss the signs of infidelity. The three signs are business trips, changing clothing styles, and surprise gifts. Yor worries she is losing Loid and her assignment. She vows to be a better wife and mother. Anya returns home with her latest cooking class assignment. She has to make a dessert for a competition, and the principal will choose the winner. The winner will get a coveted Stellar Star. With 8 stars, Anya will become an Imperial Scholar at Eden College. Loid wants Anya to advance because it will help him complete Operation Strix. Loid remembers the principal’s favorite dessert is Meremere, an old-fashioned cake from Frigis. Loid doesn’t think they will have the cake in town, so he decides to take a family trip to Frigis to obtain the recipe. Yor concerns grow because she believes this is a business trip for Loid’s affair. However, he invites them to come with him. Yor and Anya jump for joy, but Loid knows the restaurant with Meremere cake only serves families. Yor, Loid, Anya, and Bond ride the train to Frigis when Anya asks to go to the bathroom. She goes with Bond and finds an unattended key on the sink. Bond predicts that the key unlocks a treasure, and Anya tracks it in car 8. She uncovers the suitcase in Bond’s vision and uses the key to open it. It’s chocolate, and Anya accidently eats it. She hears two men, Demitri and Luca, enter the train car because Luca lost the key. They search for the case and find it empty. They grab Anya and decide to kill her. However, Yor saves Anya and destroys the two men. Anya and Yor return to their car and sit with Loid. Anya wants to get the Meremere recipe, Yor desires to keep her family together, and Loid needs Operation Strix back. All while being the perfect family. When Luca and Demetri’s boss, Colonel Snidel, discovers Anya ate the chocolate, Snidel will do anything to get her. Based on Spy x Family, this movie brings family drama and comedy to the spy world (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). It has the engaging script, stunning visuals, and stylized fights anime fans expect. Anya is an adorable girl that’s wise beyond her years. She knows her adoptive parents are spies but will do anything to keep her family together. Anya hears their thoughts and intervenes when necessary. Yor is a killer but wants to keep the guise she created. She will do anything to keep Loid happy and maintain her mission. Loid focuses on his mission. And it forces him to save his family. They are the key to Operation Strix. This movie spotlights the dangers of lipstick, the beauty of a toilet garden, and the strength of teeth. It helps to be an anime fan to enjoy this movie, but you don’t need to watch the series. They give new viewers a helpful synopsis. If you don’t like subtitles, then watch the English dubbed version. For parents, the movie is animation, but it’s PG-13. Fans of the genre or series will enjoy this film, but you won’t desire to purchase it. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars That was a lie. I’m sorry – Anya A family should stay together – Yor The ware will be here soon enough – Colonel Snidel Borf – Bond I will be winning at this – Loid
