Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard – Review
Stolen Baby: The Murder of Heidi Broussard – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Heidi helps her son, Aiden, brush his teeth, grabs her 2-week-old daughter, Emma, and takes Aiden to school. She comes home and calls her fiancé, Cody. She is exhausted and asks Cody to pick up Aiden after school, but he doesn’t have time. He reminds Heidi to sleep when the baby sleeps. Heidi puts Emma down for a nap, gets into bed, and then her phone rings. Magen is outside in tears. Magen fought with the father of her child, Greg, and now needs to talk. Heidi knows it’s a serious fight because Magen traveled for hours to talk. Heidi gets Emma and meets Magen at Magen’s car. She questions Magen about the whereabouts of Magen’s daughter, Lily. Magen responds that Lily is with Greg. Then, Heidi hesitates when she doesn’t see a car seat. Magen promises to go to a coffee shop close by. Next, Heidi turns to get her wallet, but Magen offers to pay. Heidi and Emma get into the backseat, and they drive away.
Magen gets a call from Cody but ignores it to focus on her daughter. After a few days, Magen receives a call from Heidi’s sister, Lilian. Heidi and Emma are missing, and no one can find them. The FBI decided to get involved because Emma is so young. Magen asks if the police investigated Cody because he and Heidi have issues. Lilian doesn’t believe Cody would ever hurt Heidi and alerts Magen that the police will call her soon. Magen doesn’t think she has any information to give them, but Lilian reassures Magen it’s routine. They are questioning all of Heidi’s friends. Magen encourages Lilian to be brave and hangs up. Greg walks into the room to hold Lily but notices she looks yellow. He wants Magen to take Lily to the doctor, but Magen angrily refuses. He relents and leaves. Greg thinks Magen is stressed. Sadly, he’s right.
Based on actual events, this movie is a display of long-festering envy. Magen and Heidi were so-called friends for decades, but everyone can see that Magen doesn’t have a life outside of Heidi. Viewers will squirm as police suspect Cody. They grill him and give him potential reasons to hurt Heidi. Then, the police schedule a lie detector test and use his news interview against him. But Cody endures this and gives the police a hint by recalling the day of Emma’s birth. You will weep for Heidi’s family. Her parents, sister, and friends desperately look for her while maintaining some sense of ‘normal’ for Heidi’s son. They never turn on each other. They band together for Heidi, Cody, and Aiden. Also, any parent will ache for baby Emma. She is sick and needs medical care, but Magen’s selfishness and fear won’t let her see Emma’s illness. While you watch, don’t forget their is another victim: Greg. Magen used the baby to trick him. Magen announced her pregnancy when he ended their relationship and kicked her out of his home. The baby changed his mind about the living arrangement but not the romance. Greg thought he had a beautiful baby girl and genuinely cared for her. Magen’s lies took that all away. This movie has several flashbacks, but it draws viewers into the film. With amazing acting and great story-telling, this movie will make you take a double look at who you call a friend.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars

Billy drives Gethsemane Brown up the Ireland countryside to his uncle Eamon’s home. The town is abuzz about Gethsemane because they believe she can conduct the choir and win all county. Gethsemane tours the house and finds a picture of Eamon. She had no idea that Billy was a relative of a great musician. Billy doesn’t talk about Eamon much because of the rumor. Many believe that Eamon poisoned himself after killing his wife, Orla. Billy doesn’t think it’s true because Eamon and Orla loved each other dearly. He warns Gethsemane that past guests heard the piano late at night, but Gethsemane isn’t afraid.
Late at night, Gethsemane hears the piano and races downstairs. She doesn’t see anyone near the piano but sees someone running away from the house. Then, the piano’s lid slams shut. Gethsemane calls the police to help, and they send Inspector O’Reilly. The inspector searches the ground but can’t find anyone or any evidence. He urges Gethsemane to protect herself and takes her where someone threw Orla off the cliff. Then, he makes failed attempts to flirt with Gethsemane. Gethsemane meets her class, introduces herself, and starts working on pitch exercises. Exhausted by the interruption, Mr. Griff, a math teacher, comes to Gethsemane’s classroom and asks her to shut the door. She apologizes for the oversight and pulls the door together.
Gethsemane goes home after a trying first day. She sees Sheamus looking through her windows. Sheamus is Billy’s friend and delivers groceries. He has a bottle of wine to welcome her. She takes the bottle and invites Sheamus into the home. They talk for a while, and she hears his version of the Eamon and Orla saga. Gethsemane sits at the piano because she can’t get last night’s tune out of her head. So she starts to play and freezes when the notes spell dead. She looks to her side and sees a man sitting next to her. They scream simultaneously. She threatens to call the inspector, but the man says he’s the owner. Gethsemane realizes the man is Eamon. Gethsemane can see ghosts. She panics and runs to the local tavern.
Gethsemane has a glass of wine to clear her mind and meets the local physician, Dr. Elizabeth. Gethsemane hints that she might need help in the future and rides home. Gethsemane cautiously moves into the room and assumes her hallucination is gone. However, Eamon’s spirit returns after Gethsemane opens an expensive bottle of wine. She wants Eamon to go away, but he is in limbo. He needs to go to heaven and be with the love of his life, Orla. But he can’t until he solves her murder and, subsequently, his. Eamon finding Orla’s body broke his heart. He grabbed her and brought her home. Waiting for the police to arrive, he had a drink but didn’t know someone poisoned it. Gethsemane agrees to help but only during non-work hours.
Based on Murder in G Major: A Gethsemane Brown Mystery by Alexia Gordon, this film is a compelling start to a promising new series (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). The film slowly introduces Gethsemane to the audience along with her love triangle. You discover that Gethsemane’s father had her musical and paranormal abilities. Also, she left an ex-fiancé in Virginia. This movie will serve more drama and uncomfortable moments in the future. With a picturesque background and loveable characters in every scene, the audience will get lost in a world of wonderment and fun. Experienced Sleuthers will uncover the killer before the end, but you won’t piece together the less significant crimes. This twist makes the plot intriguing and a delight.

One Night Stand Murder – Review
One Night Stand Murder – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Alyssa wakes up in a strange bed next to an unknown man. She walks into his bathroom, washes her face, straightens her hair, and tries to recall the night before. Alyssa enters the bedroom and tells the sleeping man goodbye, but he doesn’t respond. She walks over to his side of the bed. The sheets near his chest are bloody. Alyssa touches him, and he’s dead. She runs outside and calls her friend, attorney Cindy, to meet at Cindy’s office. Cindy makes Alyssa retain her as counsel so they have attorney-client privilege. Alyssa recalls the story but doesn’t remember meeting the man or going home with him. Cindy tells Alyssa to contact the police, but Alyssa wants to gather more evidence to prove her innocence first.
A patrol officer calls Detective Keller to the home of billionaire Fletcher Doyle. When Fletcher didn’t come to work for an important meeting, his staff called the police to perform a wellness check. They found Fletcher in bed with a stab wound in his chest. His front door was closed but unlocked, and no one set the alarm the night before. They find two glasses next to a bottle of expensive liquor. The medical examiner sees that someone gathered the bedspread on one side. It’s a sign that someone was there with Fletcher last night. And the lipstick on the glass confirms it was a woman. Detective Keller wants to consider all possibilities. It’s easy to assume the woman is the killer, but his experience tells him to dig deeper. Now, Alyssa and Detective Keller hunt for Fletcher’s murderer, but what will happen when their paths cross?
First, everyone needs to give Keller respect for being a great detective. He could easily focus on Alyssa and force her to investigate the crime alone. Instead, he didn’t take the crime scene at face value. He scrutinized everything and asked the right questions. He recognized that Alyssa wasn’t acting guilty but afraid. Second, Alyssa does everything wrong. In the history of movies, we know it’s better to report the crime instead of run. When someone says ‘report it,’ Alyssa sinks deeper into the abyss. You can’t be this irresponsible. The audience won’t care about her safety because she doesn’t. Viewers watch to see if their hunch is correct and cheer on Keller.
I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars
Are you retaining me as legal counsel – Cindy
Can you please stop saying ‘what’ – Alyssa
The satisfaction of knowing you did your civic duty – Detective Keller

Notes of Autumn – Review
Notes of Autumn – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Event planner Ellie calls her friend, Leo, for an update on his new book. Leo is on the 17th book for the Parkington Manor novels but suffers from writer’s block. He quickly ends their conversation so he can focus. Ellie walks into the lobby, sits at the piano, and plays. Her boss, Helena, breaks Ellie’s concentration. Helena believes Ellie is easily distracted and doesn’t make work her priority. Ellie promises to meet Mrs. Hill and give Mrs. Hill her undivided attention.
During the meeting, Ellie realizes she left the sample event menus in the kitchen. She sees her friend, Chef Matt, cooking something new. Matt dreams of opening a restaurant, and Ellie plans his investor’s dinner to raise funds. The pair joke and laugh about the free food in Ellie’s future. Ellie leaves the kitchen to work with Mrs. Hill, but Helena cuts her off. Mrs. Hill waited for Ellie for over 10 minutes because Ellie got distracted by Matt. Helena fires Ellie.
Ellie goes home and calls Leo. Leo reminds Ellie that she never wanted to be an event planner. She went to Juilliard for piano. Ellie states that the piano doesn’t pay the bills. She needs to get away and clear her head. Leo laughs because his publisher suggested he do the same to release his writer’s block. His deadline passed, and now, they want his new book. Ellie gets a bright idea. They can switch living spaces. Ellie can move into Leo’s home and decide what her next career move should be, and Leo can get a change of scenery to inspire his writing. Leo agrees to the swap.
Leo tells his friend Sam that he can’t help with the Piano Ball’s string quartet because he will take a trip. However, Ellie went to Juilliard and is a concert pianist. Also, she had experience planning events. Sam focuses on the word ‘had’ and chuckles. Ellie tells Matt she is leaving for a few weeks, and his concern grows. Ellie promised Matt he could use her kitchen to create his investor dinner menu. Ellie eases Matt and says she will tell Leo about their arrangement. Leo lands before Ellie walks to her gate, and they exchange keys. They tell each other about Matt and Sam but don’t go into details. A convenience swap will change their personal and professional lives forever.
Be prepared to laugh and fall in love with these two couples and friends. You will admire Ellie’s friendship with Matt and Leo. They lovingly poke fun at each other while sharing dreams and giving words of encouragement. When Matt meets Leo, it involves a giraffe, an alligator, and a spoon. Viewers will need them to fall in love instantly. As Sam meets Ellie, it includes a key, climbing, and a threat. They stumble, have near kisses, and protected hearts. The audience will wait with bated breath for them to achieve their dreams and loves. This movie begs for a part two, so we can witness their crazy weddings.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars
I’m not blocked. I’m stuck – Leo
