How She Caught a Killer – Review
How She Caught a Killer – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

David joins Linda after she graduates from the police academy. David beams with pride but worries that Linda will make the same mistakes her father did. Linda joins David’s precinct but becomes increasingly disinterested in the mundane cases. Linda stands outside David’s office and eavesdrops on David’s conversation with FBI Agent Neil. David contacted the FBI because someone tortured and killed two women similarly. David wrote several letters to the FBI for assistance, and the FBI sent their rookie agent to tell David to stop. Neil doesn’t believe David has enough murders to warrant the FBI. During their conversation, an officer reports another murder with the same signature. Now, they have enough victims to flag it as a serial killer. Neil and David leave to investigate the scene, and Linda meets them outside. She begs to be a part of the case, but David says no.
Neil and David discuss the next steps for catching the killer, and Neil suggests putting someone undercover. David says his men don’t have the training, but Linda enters the room. She reminds David that she looks like all the victims and that the office underutilizes her. Before David can reject Linda again, Neil agrees with her. He thinks she will be perfect to collect information to track the killer. Then, David lays down the ground rules. First, Linda can’t go anywhere without her gun because the killer uses a hammer to murder his victims. So, Linda must be ready. Linda has to wear a wire. David and Neil want Linda to talk to solicitors and working girls. They need Linda to ask probing questions without spooking anyone. Finally, Linda can’t get into anyone’s vehicle. They will keep up appearances by having another officer pick Linda up, drive Linda around, and give her cash. Linda promises to adhere to the rules and eagerly goes undercover. Can Linda catch the killer without losing herself?
This movie, set in the 1980s, relies heavily on police work because DNA testing was in its infancy. Sadly, the film reminds viewers that the ideas about prostitutes and their profession haven’t changed. David thoroughly investigates this case because he knows the 1st victim’s father. Nevertheless, David marks compelling evidence inconclusive because the women are in the oldest profession. Even after finding blood in the killer’s car, David blames the women’s menstrual cycle. Also, Linda makes blaring mistakes. But remember, she is a rookie. She doesn’t understand how to keep a wall between her and the undercover façade. Moments like these will make you scream. This film emphasizes the taboo of sex work, the dark mind, and the advancement of DNA testing.
I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars

Come Fly with Me – Review
Come Fly with Me – HMM – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Emma and Hawk are the newest pilots on the Thunderbird team. Their captain, Frost, goes over the day’s practice formations. Emma, a.k.a. Blitz, has plenty of experience but studies the maneuvers intensely. Emma comes home after training and watches her mother, Carol, make her daughter, Lucy, warm milk before bed. Emma wants to spend more time with Lucy, but Lucy understands her mother’s demanding and dangerous job.
Paul takes his daughter, Alice, to the doctor’s office for a check-up. Dr. Carol greets Alice with a warm smile, but Alice can’t take her eyes off Lucy’s limited edition Pilot Girls backpack. Carol knows Alice’s passion for flying and mentions Emma’s job. It gobsmacks Alice. The two girls become fast friends in the lobby, but Alice has to leave for her appointment. Afterward, Paul has to pick up certified checks, but Alice doesn’t want to leave Lucy. Carol offers to look after Alice for Paul, and he agrees.
The girls become inseparable and spend time together in Paul’s outdoor store. While prepping boxes, Alice has a hard time breathing. She takes a break and unzips her jacket. Lucy sees the scar on Alice’s chest. Alice had several heart surgeries in childhood, and the effects plague her today. Later, Alice learns Emma’s Thunderbird tour will only last two years. Lucy privately admits to Alice that she doesn’t want to move again. Alice and Lucy decide to ‘Parent Trap’ Paul and Emma so they will fall in love and plant roots (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). Will their plan work?
This movie is fast-paced, heart-warming, funny, and thrilling. Paul and Emma are honest with others about their feelings but take their time talking to each other. And the script lays out why perfectly. They don’t wait for the last 30 seconds to kiss. It’s the perfect romantic moment that will make your heart melt. Seeing Alice and Lucy secretly plan the date is highly entertaining. Emma and Paul know something is up, but go with the flow. The flying scenes are flawless. But if you suffer from motion sickness, you may have to look away. This story is endearing and one of the best-written stories of the Fall into Love series.

She looks up the singer online and watches a performance. Then Ellen gets a shock. In the video, she sees Paul kissing another woman. First, we have the typical Lifetime bratty teen. Kelsey explains herself in the end, but it’s not needed. Next, the story has the all-too-trusting wife. Ellen dotes on Paul and ensures everything, including labels, is to his liking. Then, we have the Lifetime Detective, but surprisingly, he does his job. However, Ellen never listens. Last, Ellen schemes and decides to meet the other woman. With so much juicy drama in the script, the audience won’t like Ellen. She is intelligent enough to gain information but handles and presents it incorrectly. When she discovers how dangerous Paul is, she doesn’t take it seriously. These mistakes will frustrate viewers and make them lose confidence in Ellen.

Fourth Down and Love – Review
Fourth Down and Love – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Mike’s family watches him and his team, The Whalers, run onto the field and play football. All seems well until Mike takes a brutal sack. Mike suffered several broken ribs, and his coaches put him on the injured list. This year, his team could get a ring, something Mike always wanted. With this injury, he could get the game ring but never play. Doctors tell Mike to relax and rehab to secure his spot in the championship game and continue with the team. Mike’s brother, Jimmy, calls Mike and tells Mike to spend time with his family because they can help with his rehab. Mike thinks it over and relents.
Erin takes her daughter, Kiera, to football practice. Kiera loves to play, but she is the only girl, and the boys don’t include her. Kiera sees a league of girls playing on a field nearby during practice. Their coach, Jimmy, explains that the all-girls team contains teens from different schools. Kiera drops her team and joins Jimmy’s team with Jimmy’s daughter, Zoey. Erin doesn’t see Mike walk onto the field but remembers him when Jimmy introduces them. Mike and Erin dated in college, and she broke up with him during the draft. Erin became a mother and left her dreams of being a kinesiologist behind. Now, she is a divorced real estate agent. Mike is a professional football player but hasn’t gotten over Erin breaking his heart. Mike and Erin have a curt conversation before Erin leaves the field with Kiera.
Jimmy’s wife, Danielle, invites Erin and Kiera to a bonfire but doesn’t tell Erin that Mike will be there. Jimmy gets a call from a local high school. They want Jimmy to coach their football team. Jimmy can’t coach both teams simultaneously and considers turning down the job. Danielle tells him to accept the position and suggests Mike coach the girls’ team. Jimmy wonders how Mike will lead the team with busted ribs, and Danielle and Erin volunteer to assist Mike. The time together will force Erin and Mike to confront their issues and regain trust.
This movie has something for everyone. It has football, love, and humor. It has a predictable ending but an entertaining journey. Mike and Erin find their groove on and off the field. They talk through their problems and show tremendous growth. Kiera and Zoey relay a message about girl power without becoming too preachy. Kiera wants a chance to play, but her old team ignores her. She doesn’t let that deter her. She sees an opportunity and ceases it. So sit back and have your football snacks ready.
