Kehoe, Colorado depends on Nelson “Nels” Coxman to keep the roads clear for passing motorist. He is so good at his job, he won Kehoe’s Citizen of the Year award. After a long day of work, he comes home to his wife, Grace, wondering in the snow. The local morgue called, they found a body with this son, Kyle’s ID on it. Once the body is identified, the coroner tells Nels and Grace that Kyle died of a drug overdose. Nels can’t believe their son was a ‘druggy’ but Grace believes they didn’t really know Kyle. With the crushing loss, Nels goes into is work’s garage, drinks vodka, and puts a gun in his mouth. Just as he puts his finger on the trigger, he hears a noise. Dante is in the corner, bloody, bruised, and apologizing. Dante feels that Kyle’s death is his fault. Dante worked for the airlines and helped smuggle drugs. He took some cocaine, believing the dealers wouldn’t notice, and Kyle never knew. They came after him and Kyle. He escaped, Kyle didn’t. Nels wants the name of the man that killed Kyle. That piece of information will set off a killing spree
A remake of In Order of Disappearance, this movie is the similar ‘kill them all’ gangster movie (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). It doesn’t offer anything new and it should have been titled, Fathers and Sons. Just the same double-crossing, misunderstandings, and killings. It is interesting to watch the name of the murder victims go across the screen with a symbol reflecting their religion after they are killed. Also, its the women of Cold Pursuit that offer the most laughs. If you are a fan of the genre, see the matinee. Otherwise, wait for Redbox.
I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars
How many – Nels
A bully is just a chance to prove your manhood – Viking
We didn’t know our own son – Grace
I guess you won’t be trying that again – Aya
Blood for blood, a son for a son – White Bull
