Callum Lynch is put to death for murder, but wakes up in the Abstergo Industries facility. By his bedside is Dr. Sophia Rikkin. She explains that to the world, he is dead.  Now, he is part of a larger plan to save mankind. He will be hooked up to a machine called the Animus. The Animus allows Callum to retrieve his ancestor’s memories. It is in the Animus, he learns that his ancestor is Aguilar de Nerha. Anguilar was a part of a brotherhood of Assassins. This brotherhood protected that Apple of Eden. It is believed that the Apple of Eden seeded the 1st sin. If Callum can tap into Anguilar, then Dr. Rikkin will know where the Apple of Eden is hidden. With the Apple, they can end all crime … by taking man’s free will.

Based on Assassin’s Creed Video Game, the visual affects would be enjoyable, if the movie wasn’t a huge bore (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). This movie is the story line you skip to get to the video game. It slow, confusing, and over blown. Not to mention, the many shots of character staring into monitors, each other, their own reflections, or nothing. It’s sad when a great cast can’t save a bad script. Being the “best video game movie” is not a big leap since most are horrific. Wait for your cable provider to watch this one.

I give it 1.5 out of 5 stars

I’m hungry – Callum Lynch

Your blood is not your own, Cal – Joseph Lynch

Let him go – Dr. Sophia Rikkin

Not sure I can make that work – Alan Rikkin
