Mowgli was abandoned in jungle when he was baby and found by a panther, Bagheera. Mowgli was adopted by the wolves and finds it difficult being a wolf 100% of the time. His “father”, Akela, tells Mowlgi to stop making tools (“tricks”) and live as wolves do. After a major drought, there is a water treaty. All animals will drink at the only water source and no one will attack. While the pack dranks, a tiger, Shere Khan, who was attacked by a human, smells and sees the boy. Shere warns everyone that a man cub becomes man and threatens their way of life. Shere wants the wolves to give Mowgli to him, so he can kill Mowgli. Mowgli decides to leave the pack, in order to save it from Shere; and Bagheera guides him to humans. Once Shere hears Mowgli has left, he goes into the rage and kills. On his travels, Mowgli runs into snakes, bears, and gorillas. Each wants his life, his tools, or for him to obtain the “red flower”. Mowgli will find his way and his true self.

This movie follows the classic tale and even has your favorite songs. Adults and kids (not toddlers and babies) will love this movie. This movie must be seen IMAX to appreciate the CGI work that was done. It is hard to believe these animals are not standing next to Neel. Even as he touches the animal, their individual fur moves. This movie is breathtakingly beautiful. The visual impact, alone, makes this movie worth seeing.  Disney got everything right.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars

Wolves don’t hide in trees – Bagheera

It’s not the wolf way – Mowgli
