#UnwantedGuest – Review

Unwanted Guest – Lifetime – 2 hours and 2 minutes

Unwanted Guest

Christine and Amy want to get away from campus after Christine’s ex-boyfriend, Allan, dies. Christine offers to let Amy stay with her family, after she learns that Amy has no where to stay during winter break. Charles and Anna, Christine’s step-dad and mom, are surprised by the guest but welcome her. Amy is the perfect house guest. She cooks, cleans, and takes care of Christine when she is becomes ill. But of course, this is Lifetime, no one is that nice without a motive. Christine health gets worse, Mom has a terrible fall, the hamster is missing, and brake lines fail. While the family determines the source of the bad luck, Allan’s death is being investigate. Not as a accident, but as a murder. Sit back and watch the crazy unfold.

If you like a quick body count and clever villain (while screaming at everyone else in the movie for being dumb), this is the movie for you. Amy doesn’t do much to turn this family on it’s side; and that’s what makes if fun to watch. Amy’s character is very intelligent but relies on redirecting phone calls and miscommunication to get what she wants. Proving its the small thing that can do the most damage. This compelling story is weakened by its lack luster ending to explain why it happened. There was so much build up with little follow up. If you watch this movie, missing a minute will leave you lost. So give this movie your full attention. However, don’t crack open wine or change plans. DVR and get some take out.

I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars
