Katniss, a tortured and manipulated Peta, a mission driven Gale, and her propaganda team plan to align the district, take over the Capitol, and kill President Snow.  As Katniss comes to terms with an inevitable war, she is not sure if she can pay the cost of lost lives.  Gale’s heart has been harden after watching his home, District 12,  and his family burn to the ground.  After an extremely horrendous torture in the Capitol, Peta has a hard time determining what is real and not real.  The Soldiers have to pull themselves together to fight the enemy, while each of them are breaking down.  But in their shattered selves stands truth, honor, and strength that their enemy never saw coming.  With one arrow, the world, as Katniss knows it, just may change.

This movie will make your heart race, you laugh, and (if you didn’t read the books) your jaw drop.  It does stay true to the book and brings the visuals to life beautifully.  The black oil, mutts, and battles are just the way you imagined them to be.  With complaints from many fans about changes, this final installment will ease your fears.  They have given you what you want … a movie that is honest and loyal to its inspiration.  The motion capture, green screen, and computer generated worlds are artistically done with amazing precision.  It is hard to see where the ‘real and not real’ begins and ends.  The downfall is that some of the more emotional moments can come off as laughable when characters are drooling on themselves.  The perceived intensity comes off as comical.  This film is an excellent “Thank You” to all the fans.  And truly, ‘Nothing can prepare you for the end’.

I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars
