A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story – Review
A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Sarah Harris arrives at Dr. James’ office with her mother, Tina, for a dental procedure. He talks to Sarah about her future to put her at ease. Sarah mentions looking for work, and he offers her a position at his dental practice. She doesn’t believe she is the right fit. He asks her to keep her options open before giving her gas to sleep. Afterward, Sarah tells Tina about the job. Tina believes it’s a great opportunity for Sarah. So Sarah takes the job.
After working with Sarah for a few months, James gives Sarah special attention and gifts. Tina is worried about the age difference. Sarah loves James’s maturity because he knows what he wants, unlike the men her age. Tina relents and allows the relationship to continue, uncontested. They date, travel, and work. Tina and her daughter, Rachel, believe Sarah is happy. Until they visit one afternoon, they find Sarah unconscious with vials of drugs, bloody gauze, and IV poles. James says he’s treating her for depression, but it’s far worse. He keeps her in a drugged state to control her. Can they save Sarah before James kills her?
Based on actual events, this film is hard to handle. Sarah transforms from a vibrant woman into a zombie. The writers have James creep into her life as a mentor gingerly. Then, he grooms her with affection, gifts, and simple vitamins. Meanwhile, he charms Sarah’s family during dark times. They lose two vital family members, making everyone vulnerable to his deception. Also, they fear Sarah’s history of mental health issues will have her committed if they report his actions. He found the perfect victim to manipulate. Your heart will break each time Tina’s family suffers another tragedy. The editors brought Sarah’s pain to life by publishing some of her text while you watch her break down. Sadly, it didn’t take long. This film is a tough watch but worth your time.

To Catch a Stepfather – Review
To Catch a Stepfather – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes

It’s been six months since Roger drove his girlfriend, Allison, to the hospital after her son, Eric, was in an accident. She fell in love with him that night because he never left their side, and it was their 2nd date. Today, Allison and Roger are happily engaged and looking to the future. However, Eric expresses his frustration to his girlfriend, Mia. Eric doesn’t want to get close to Roger because he misses his father. Allison pleads with Eric to give Roger a chance. Their hiking trip will be a great start.
As they hike up the hill, Allison stands behind to set up, giving the men time alone. Roger and Eric climb further up and talk. Roger shows Eric his electrified hiking stick. Eric backs away, shaking his head. Then, Eric slips. Roger grabs him but doesn’t pull Eric away from the edge. Eric sees a slight gleam in Roger’s eyes that disturbs him. Roger yanks Eric back and tells him to keep it a secret between them. Eric agrees and leaves. As Roger grabs a drink of water, Jackson approaches Roger and calls him Carter. Roger pretends not to know him, but Jackson scoffs. He invites Roger to drinks later.
Eric waits for Roger to leave and tells Allison about the incident on the cliff. Allison thinks Eric misunderstood Roger’s intentions. Eric believes Roger is dangerous and that Allison is rushing into the relationship. And her best friend, Lori, feels the same way. Allison believes Roger is amazing, but Eric will do anything to prove otherwise. Can he save her before Roger kills them like he eliminated Jackson?
This suspense film will have you rooting for the bratty teen and the nosy friend. Eric and Lori know that something is off with Roger. While Lori speaks on her suspicions, Eric acts on them. His pursuit of the truth drives the story forward. His investigation with Mia will make viewers clutch their pearls. The lead’s misguided actions and excuses bore the audience because she falls victim to the Lifetime cliché. The killer’s motive is the biggest plot twist. All the clues were there, but the investigation misdirects you. The acting was average, and the script was typical, but the twist saves the movie.
I give it 3 out of 5 stars
I’m here to the bitter end – Roger
I’m not rushing into this – Allison
He’s not Dad – Eric

No One Leaves – Review
No One Leaves – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Puzzle author Meredith flashes back as she proofreads a co-worker’s puzzle. It contains a person trapped in a car trunk. Charles kidnapped Meredith when she was a teenager and forced her into a crime spree. She escaped, but now deals with troubling flashbacks. Her husband, Duke, assures Meredith that she is strong, capable, and wonderful. They laugh as the lights cut off. The neighborhood’s power is out. Then, Meredith remembers they planned a game night with their friend, Art. They can’t call because the phones aren’t working, but Duke recalls that Art has a generator. So, they can sit without internet or spend the evening with their friend. They choose Art.
Meredith and Duke arrive at Art’s home, and an unexpected guest greets them. It’s Art’s niece, Saddie. He invites them in, and Meredith notices the bandage on Saddie’s hand. As they prepare the table for dinner, Meredith questions why Art has locks on his drawers. He gives a quick answer, and they continue setting up. Saddie stands close to Meredith and whispers that Art kidnapped her and isn’t her uncle. Meredith alerts Duke, but Duke laughs it off. Meredith privately confronts Art. He warns her that Saddie is a disturbed young woman who makes up stories. To ease Meredith’s mind, he gives her a knife for protection and warns Saddie to stop. But something doesn’t sit right with Meredith. Someone is lying, and no one will leave until she uncovers the truth.
The writers made this film a test of lateral thinking, as the film states. Meredith character development is unique for a Lifetime movie. Her backstory includes captivity, manipulation, rumors, and murder. While it gives her compassion for Sadie, her relationship with Art may cloud her judgment. This twisted storyline will engross Lifetimers while leaving them confused. You will need to watch this film twice to unpack the clues you miss. Most of them will be there for you to see, but the most crucial clue is hidden in the background. Viewers should save it to their DVR and give this slow burn two chances.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars
I just hate being fragile – Meredith
What the hell are you doing here? – Art
Never stop being who you are – Duke
You got to help me. Not my uncle – Sadie

Pumpkin Regatta Romance – Review
Pumpkin Regatta Romance – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Nadine and her friend, Allie, speak loudly around Nadine’s father, George, to coax him into restarting the Pumpkin Regatta. George ignores them and retreats into his store. Declaring defeat, they enter. Allie grabs some candy, and Nadine stands behind the register. However, the register does work. George pries it open with a screwdriver, and Nadine begs him to modernize it. He says no. The town depends on the store remaining the same. She hints that restarting the Regatta will keep traditions. But George scoffs. He won’t consider it until Andrew admits he cheated.
Ethan takes his mother, Frankie, to the secret pumpkin patch. He grows it, hoping his father, Andrew, will restart the Regatta. Andrew catches them but won’t budge until George admits the bump was an accident. Frankie and Ethan sulk as Andrew leaves. Ethan says his giant pumpkins were made for the Regatta, but he will find them wonderful homes around town. He returned after receiving his degree in agricultural engineering. He worked for large corporations but knew he would always come home.
Nadine and Allie meet for their book club with Tracey and Barbara. They admit that nobody read the book. When Tracey’s son, Sam, exits, she sighs. Sam is doing wonderful in school, but she can’t afford to send him. Tracey can’t bear saddling him with debt, and the scholarships are lackluster. She’s made a career out of helping other kids go to school, but can’t help her son. Nadine gets an idea to restart the Regatta and collect donations. They will use it to fund a scholarship and offer the funds to Sam. They offer to help Nadine but warn her that George will say no and she still needs huge pumpkins. Nadine will talk to George later, but she’s willing to meet with Ethan now.
Nadine finds Ethan on his land and asks him if he has pumpkins large enough to become boats. He laughs and takes her to his secret patch. She starts her spiel but is taken aback when he says yes instantly. He’s tired of the feud and wants to bring the town together. However, he know their fathers won’t be so easy to convince. So, they will tell the town to keep their secret while reinstating the Pumpkin Regatta. The townspeople agree, but they can’t help but notice something brewing between the pair. Will restarting the Pumpkin Regatta build a romance?
This Romeo and Juliet tale embraces the autumn spirit. The set department had the fall colors on full display with apple cider and cake pops. This season isn’t a generic plot. With the enormous pumpkins, the season is quintessential to the character development. The plot centers on feuding families, similar to the classic Shakespeare story. However, Nadine and Ethan had feelings for each other but never acted on them. This unrequited romance pulls the story forward and makes its growth sweet and funny. This film has surprising comedic elements and an entertaining cast. The twist doesn’t involve the love story. It centers around the Pumpkin Regatta and the families. The writers added a 2nd love interest for Nadine, but he wasn’t a serious contender. The leads’ love story is authentic, cozy, and charming. This film is a wonderful addition to the 2026 Fall into Love programming.
