Finally enjoying their honeymoon, Dom and Letty are basking in the sun of retirement in Cuba.  Dom wants to leave his old life behind and Letty is thinking about a family. Dom sees a stranded motorist on the street and offers assistance. This motorist is the notorious hacker known as Cipher. She shows Dom an image on her phone and tells him he as to help her and turn against his team. Or his family will suffer. Dom must keep the threat a secret from Letty and the family until he can find his way out of this situation.

Hobbs is training his new team, The Red Dragons, to be fierce warriors when he is approached by Mr. Nobody. Mr. Nobody needs him to retrieve an EMP in Berlin but tells him to get some help. Hobbs knows exactly who to call. He gets the crew together and gets the EMP. That when everything “goes left”. Dom forces Hobbs off the road and takes the EMP and gives it to Cipher.  But Cipher is done with Dom yet and she reminds him of what’s at stake.  They set out for the next phase of her plan.  Meanwhile, Hobbs is arrested for the stolen EMP and put in the same prison as Deckard Shaw. They are just across the hall from each other. With one fatal mistake, Shaw causes a jailhouse riot and attempts to escape. Hobbs is quickly in pursuit. Just as the men are face to face they are stopped by Mr. Nobody. He planned the entire thing to get the men together. Since Hobbs and Shaw have been the only 2 people in the world to track Dom, he wants the to work together. If they find Dom, they find the EMP and Cipher. With his whole crew searching for him, they are determined to get Dom and some answers but can they trust Shaw as a wing man. And will Letty save Dom before the team makes a decision to take him out? Only fate will tell.

ALL HAIL JASON STATHAM!!!!!! His fight scene on the plane what intense, nurturing, and funny at the same time. They could play that scene on a 2-hour loop and it would be a great movie. Do you need to see the first 7 to enjoy this one? No, but it will help when they mention old characters. And yes, for you Furious fans buckle your seat belt because seeing some people will be a wild ride. It has all the explosions and craziness we have come to expect while keeping fans in the dark about Cipher’s bargaining chip against Dom. But once you find out, you will be shocked. This movie flows perfectly into the franchise and should be seen in Dolby.  Now it does lag at times to focus on the emotional connection of the team, but don’t worry the action picks back up quickly.  And no need to stay past the end crawl. Oh and don’t worry, they didn’t forget Brian or Mia in this movie. The love for Paul continues.  See it before someone ruins the story.
