David Packouz is a massage therapist, who dreams of starting an empire selling high-end bed sheets to retirement homes in Florida. While he learns his “empire” will never start, he reconnects with his best friend from junior high school, Efraim Diveroli. Efriam is the CEO of AEY, Inc. AEY scours the FedBizOps (Federal Business Opportunity) website for government contracts. Efriam explains to David, since Dick Cheney got caught selling all the government contracts to his friend; the government had to level the playing field and give the little guys a chance. AEY is the little guy who searches for contracts that the big guys don’t want. David is easily seduced by the money, because he learns his girlfriend is pregnant. It’s not long before they bid on the biggest score of their lives. This decision leads them to the Triangle of Death, the trunk of a car, and the center of a Federal Investigation within 2 years.

Based on an article in the Rolling Stones, this movie will leave you bewildered at the Pentagon’s lack of controls and brazenness to hand out contracts like candy. Within 20 minutes, you will have a feeling that you know how this movie will end … and you are right. Its not hard to figure out how these men’s actions will end but its nice to watch the journey. You just have to remember that some of the things you are seeing … really happened! This movie proves that War Dogs maybe looked down upon in the industry, but war is money. A bad script makes this movie dull, but Hill, Teller, and Cooper make this movie worth seeing. Hill truly embodies his character down to the creepy laugh. They give great performances to an average script. This is a matinee movie if you like conspiracy movies. If not, wait for RedBox.
