After escaping the maze, Thomas, Teresa, and the other maze runners believe they are safe from WCKD’s clutches.  With the guidance of Aris, Thomas learns that they have not escaped WCKD and all those who “escaped” the maze are being sedated and harvested for their blood to make a cure for the Flare.  Thomas does what he does best … run.  With his friends, Thomas runs and looks for the Right Arm.  The Right Arm is a group of rebels that are taking maze survivors and keeping them safe from WCKD.  You will learn more about Thomas, Teresa, and how WCKD came to be.  But who can you trust when the secret to the world’s survival runs through your veins.

This movie is a cross between teen drama/zombie/apocalypse/survivor movie.  The fight scenes are intense and fun.  The Scorch Trials gives a heart breaking scene while teens walk through the scorch and hear a painful sound that stops them all in their tracks.  With amazing computer animations, you will see how bad the world has fallen apart when the Cranks took over.  With the cast of characters, its easy to get confused about names and story lines.  It would be better to read the book so you can follow along with the movie. Some of the scenes are predictable because it follows the zombie movie protocol.  However, its still a fun, wild, and crazy journey to watch.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars
