Kingpin Sosa throws a lavish party for his newly released son, Jimmy. Sosa stops the music to toast Jimmy’s freedom after 6 years behind bars. This won’t be the first party, as Sosa has scheduled three after-parties around town. He celebrates with the partiers but warns them that he knows someone ratted out Jimmy. He tells them the rat will die tonight before starting the music again. Loan shark Nick stands in the corner and watches the festivities. His wife, Alice, kisses him before leaving. She questions his affection for her, but he remains cold.
Alice texts gangster Mike after leaving the party. He’s waiting for her at the hotel. They have been having an affair since they met at Jackie’s wedding. Alice told her friend, inventor Symon, that she wants to leave Nick. However, she fears Nick’s violent tendencies. Mike hears banging at the door. He sees Nick through the peephole. Mike updates Aiice, and she begs Mike not to answer the door. He does it anyway. Nick asks Mike to go have dinner with him across the street.
At dinner, Mike admits he wants to leave the organization. Nick understands his friend is ready for a new life. He has one more job for Mike before they part ways. Nick drives Mike to a house and tells Mike to drug the person inside. This will be his last job. Mike walks to the front porch, knocks on the door, and gasps when he sees the person behind it. It’s Nick. Mike attempts to render Nick unconscious, but can’t. After a battle, Mike and Nick put Nick in Nick’s trunk. Mike demands to know what’s going on. Nick confesses that he discovered the affair. To get Mike back, he told Sosa that Mike ratted Jimmy out. Sosa will successfully send an assassin to kill Mike. However, Nick realized he had made a mistake. He uncovered that Symon created a time travel machine. He traveled back in time to stop himself from getting Mike killed. Can Nick keep himself from killing Mike to correct his future?
This film merges several genres into one. It has a buddy-comedy aspect between Mike and future Nick. They share harsh truths with a comedic flair. Then, it offers viewers an action film with an assassin’s tale. They are coming after each other with no remorse, and the blood and guts fly. Finally, the plot adds time travel for sci-fi lovers. It answers an age-old question about time travel with one stab. The fight scenes and graphics aren’t revolutionary, but they are entertaining. And the moments with present and future Nicks have smooth graphics. The dialogue gives respect to Gilmore Girls with a spirited debate (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). This movie found the perfect place on Hulu, and it will attract its core audience in the comfort of their homes. While it won’t make you a subscriber, it’s worth a free trial.
