Newt comes to New York from England to find a gift … a beast. During is trip he happens upon a meeting of the New Salem Philanthropic Society (NSPS), headed by Mary Lou, in front of a bank. Mary Lou wants to end all witches and wizards. In front of the bank is Jacob, a man tired of working in a factory and wants a loan to start his own bakery. Just as Newt is walking away, his Niffler escapes into the bank. After a funny chase, Jacob and Newt’s suitcase get switched. Once Jacob gets home, he opens the case and let out some of Newt’s beast. Newt knows he has to catch the beast before the Magical Congress of the United states of America (MACUSA) find them. Newt knows they don’t know how to treat the creators and will destroy them. The problem is that Jacob was stung by one of the beast, so he has to keep Jacob (a No-Maj) with him to make sure he is ok. Trapping these beast will take Newt and Jacob on a journey with a few casualties and the most powerful being anyone has ever seen.

Inspired by the book, Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, this movie must be seen in IMAX to appreciate the beauty of the complex imagery (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). Newt and Jacob’s interaction with the beast is so realistic, you will want to keep a beast or two. Those not in the Harry Potter realm may have an issue with the dialogue but you will still love the movie. So Muggles, find a Harry Potter to English dictionary and brush up on you wizardry and its ancestry. This is a fun adventure that will open your imagination. Sit back and enjoy the ride in full IMAX.
