Cady’s mother, Ms. Heron, changed her mind and decided to take the job at NorthwesternCady Heron can leave homeschool and socialize at a public high school. It’s been her dream to spread her wings and try something new. In AP Calculus, Cady falls for the boy in front of her. She never knows what to say to Aaron but makes small talk to get his attention. Cady becomes increasingly uncomfortable when she can’t find friends or a place to sit in the cafeteria.

Cady takes her lunch to the bathroom and eats in the stall. Cady hears a knock, and it’s Damian and Janis. They pity the new girl and want to help her find her people. Damian and Janis walk Cady to the cafeteria and point out the cliques. Cady asks to sit with them, but they aren’t sure. Then, she points to two girls at a table. Damian and Janis tell Cady never to sit with them. They are two members of The Plastics – Gretchen and Karen. Gretchen knows everyone’s secrets, and Karen can’t string two intelligent thoughts together. Then, their leader, Regina George, walks into the room. She calls Cady over and questions Cady’s attendance at the school. Cady tells Regina that she is from Kenya and that her mom homeschooled before. Regina invites Cady to their table to eat, which they never do. Although Damian and Janis warn Cady not to, she sits with the Plastics and learns the rules. Cady admits to Gretchen and Karen that she has a crush on Aaron. They quickly tell Cady that Aaron is off limits because he is Regina’s ex-boyfriend.

Damian and Janis meet Cady in the stairwell and demand an update on Cady’s encounter with The Plastics. She tells them that Regina invited her to Regina’s home. Janis tells Cady to go and report everything she discovers about the group. Cady is hesitant but decides to learn more about the popular group. Cady convinces herself that she will be studying a native culture. However, Cady will get in too deep and become Plastic.

Based on Mean Girls: The Musical, this movie has a longer run time than its predecessor, but it’s worth it (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). The plot adds social media and texting to bring it into the modern time. Also, the story changes don’t try to correct the original but enrich the characters. The songs make viewers obsessed with Regina George. There is more to her than being the leader. She has fears and a soul. Also, Gretchen’s song will bring a tear to your eye, while Karen will make you laugh. Fans will see a few favorites and get the classic catchphrases. Yes, this appeals to the Mean Girls cult following and attracts a new audience. Let’s not forget the movie’s topic is still relevant. ‘Girl World’ still needs help. Bring your mom and your teen to this musical classic because it’s so fetch.

Five years ago, Ed and his wife, Theresa, welcomed their baby girl, Michelle, into this world. Now, Ed, Michelle, and Michelle’s older sister, Ashley, attend Theresa’s funeral. The pastor tells Ed to call on the community for help and urges the congregation to assist Ed and his daughters. The town can’t believe the family’s circumstances. Ed lost his wife and now may lose Michelle. Michelle has biliary atresia and needs a liver transplant. Theresa died and left a staggering amount of medical debt. Now, Michelle’s bills are piling up, too.

Sharon wakes up in her friend’s bed after a wild night of partying. So, her friend, Rose, forces Sharon to attend an A.A. meeting. Afterward, Sharon goes to the store to buy a six-pack and sees a newspaper article about Michelle. She feels compelled to attend Theresa’s funeral. She tries to cover up her not-so-appropriate outfit during the services and eats at the wake. Michelle runs over to Sharon after seeing her sparkly skirt. Ed doesn’t recognize Sharon and makes small talk. Sharon explains she never did meet Theresa but wanted to come and pay respects. Ed thanks Sharon for coming and pulls his daughters away.

Sharon wakes up with a new passion. She wants to help Ed pay Michelle’s medical bills. So she throws a hair-a-thon. Sharon raises over $4000 for the family and hand-delivers it to them. Ed’s mother, Barbara, invites Sharon inside for dinner. Sharon looks over Ed’s shoulder and sees a stack of unpaid bills. She returns home, calls his utility companies, and gets his balances. She can’t believe Ed owes over $430,000. Sharon uses her business skills to help Ed’s finances and get Michelle a liver. While focusing on the family, Rose worries it’s another form of addictive behavior. Can Sharon help save Michelle’s life without falling into despair?

Based on Ordinary Angels by Sharon Stevens Evans, this movie’s core value is perseverance (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). Ed is a prideful man and has difficulty asking for and accepting help. He feels that saving his daughter is his responsibility alone. Sharon gets inspiration during the A.A. meeting to be a service to others. She hopes it can help curb her drinking. However, she replaces one addiction with another because she hasn’t acknowledged the problem. When Ed and Sharon work together, they rally a community to help Michelle. They can overcome a blizzard, summon planes, and clear debt. This movie will bring a tear to your eye and strengthen your faith in the community.
