Pushed Off A Plane and Survived – Review
Pushed Off A Plane and Survived – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Later, Jaynie meets Kenny, but he’s rude. She attempts to leave, but he continues to argue. A bystander, Cole, steps in to help her. He abruptly convinces Kenny to leave and sits next to Jaynie. They connect so deeply that Jaynie steps out of her comfort zone and invites him to lunch. The thriving businesswoman discovers that Cole is a budding entrepreneur. He wants to start a club and promote parties. But he doesn’t want to give up his ultimate love: skydiving. Jaynie thinks it’s a crazy sport until he surprises her with a skydiving trip to Las Vegas. By the end of the trip, Cole gets down on one knee to propose marriage. Jaynie thinks it’s a wild idea, but she’s in love and says yes. Jaynie thinks Cole is the man of her dreams, but that’s not is real name. What will it take for Jaynie to survive a con artist?
Lifetimers, get ready to yell at the screen. Jaynie is easy prey for Cole. He is a handsome knight in shining armor, playing a role. The writers wait until the wedding to take his armor off. This film is a step-by-step guide to gaslighting. Cole warps Jaynie’s thoughts and uses her helpful nature to control her. The writers ensured that Cole’s violent streak emerged when she, or anyone, challenged him. Inspired by actual events, this movie feels rushed, but it follows the trajectory of their relationship. They fall in love and marry within a few weeks, making Jaynie’s decision-making feel rushed and easily altered. These actors make a dynamic and highly entertaining pair. Viewers will want to watch any movie with them.

Sinister Secret Ingredient – Review
Sinister Secret Ingredient – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Dentist Dr. Mel used her nose to diagnose diabetes in her patient. After calling EMTs to escort him to the hospital, she spies her daughter, Abby, waiting in the lobby. Mel and Abby moved to the small town two months ago. Although Mel has settled in, Abby has yet to make connections. When Mel offers to drive Abby home, Abby chooses to walk after hearing her mom rattle off the list of paperwork she has to do. In an attempt to connect, Mel offers to buy dinner. Abby laughs and begs for anything but sushi. Later, when Mel arrives home with carryout, she discovers Abby already eating at the dinner table. To Mel’s surprise, Ruth, the HOA administrator, exits the kitchen to fill Abby’s glass. Ruth noticed Mel’s struggle and offered to help. At first, Mel disapproves of the elderly woman in her home, but she changes her mind and loosens her resolve. Before long, Ruth is over daily, and Mel isn’t sure where to draw the line.
During an HOA meeting, Janine speaks to the residents about starting a foundation in her daughter’s name, Oakley. Oakley went missing and hasn’t been seen since. The police label her a runaway, but Janine won’t accept that. Ellen thinks their neighborhood is safe and doesn’t need the foundation. The residents vote, and it’s a tie. Mel stands up and speaks on Janine’s behalf. She sways several voters in Janine’s favor. Afterward, Janine hugs Mel and nominates Mel for the HOA administrator position. Mel turns it down out of respect for Ruth.
Mel goes to work but feels guilty for missing time with Abby. A friend, Nick, offers to cover the front desk at the dental office so Mel can leave early. Mel arrives at an empty home. She calls Abby’s school, and they report that she left on time. Later, Mel finds a note from Abby. It states that she decided to live with her father, Jeremy, and left. Mel calls Jeremy, but he hasn’t spoken to Abby. Mel contacts the police. However, they assume Abby is another runaway. Janine stands by Mel’s side and offers help. Mel refuses to believe that Abby chose to leave her. And she’s right. Someone kidnapped her daughter. Can Mel save Abby in time?
This movie isn’t a mystery. You know the culprit from the beginning of the film. While watching this person manipulate everyone around them, you salivate. This person makes evil look fun. The writer gave the culprit a clear motive and ample time to commit the crime. And the community and police are unknowing accomplices. Mel, like Janine, won’t back down, and it puts the kidnapper under pressure. The makeup department did a stellar job creating bruises over time. And the young actresses expressed the proper amount of fear, resilience, and coping. The film has lulls, but it entertains.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars

Murder in Music City – Review
Murder in Music City – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Caroline wakes when her phone rings in the middle of the night. Her mother, country singer Abilene, panics because someone died. Caroline jumps in her car and calls her mother’s assistant, Barbara. But Barbara doesn’t answer. When Caroline arrives at her mother’s home, two detectives are questioning her. Caroline learns that someone beat her mother’s writing partner, Jimmy, to death with a guitar. The police question Abilene about her past writers who turned lovers, and then exes. They wonder if Jimmy followed the same path. Caroline fears her mother is incriminating herself and begs Abilene to get a lawyer. However, she refuses. The police arrest her.
Caroline walks around the property and sees her mother’s stalker, Devin. He accosts her in the woods, and Kyle saves her. Caroline assumes this proves Devin killed Jimmy, not Abilene. The police arrest Devin, but they won’t release Abilene without proof of Devin’s guilt. Barbara, fresh from a wellness trip, brings Kyle inside to greet Caroline. They don’t deny their attraction. Kyle admits that Jimmy was his brother. They had a falling out years ago, and Jimmy ran away with fake names to cover his tracks. Kyle asks for Jimmy’s belongings. Caroline takes Kyle to the guest house, which is the crime scene. They find Jimmy’s songbooks with Stephanie written inside. Kyle says the woman is a mystery to him. He notices the books are old and believes one is missing. Caroline promises to look.
Caroline visits a bruised Abilene in jail. She’s determined to prove her mother’s innocence. Abilene admits that she and Jimmy were in a romantic relationship. And several people in her life took issue with it. Hank, her ex-husband and former writer, assaulted Jimmy. Jimmy urged Abilene to fire her representative, Marcia. And Barbara was the president of the Abilene fan club. Now, she runs Abilene’s life and hates anyone who takes Abilene’s focus away from the music. Caroline will do what the police won’t: Investigate. Will she uncover who killed Jimmy?
Lifetimers must be patient with this film. It’s a slow burn, but the conclusion is worth the wait. The writers make Caroline like her mother. She is strong, charismatic, and demanding. Neither of them will back down from a fight and flirt while they do it. So don’t be surprised if she makes bad decisions at the worst times. The police in this film actually do their job. They question suspects and take things seriously. Without giving away the ending, this film only works in the 21st century. Viewers have an understanding of the people’s dark side and what motivates them. Don’t let the blame game and bedroom romps distract you. This movie serves a worthwhile O.M.G. ending.

The Stars Between Us – Review
The Stars Between Us – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Malcolm sets up his telescope for the eclipse while his girlfriend, Morgan, searches for a phone signal. As Morgan walks away, Kim approaches to get a closer look at his telescope. She’s always been fascinated by astronomy. Malcolm understands. He’s a Ph.D candidate in astrophysics. Kim and Malcolm discuss the connection between astronomy and astrology. Then, Kim’s fiancé, Blake, calls her. He arrived in time with her eclipse glasses. Malcolm and Kim give each other a final glance before parting.
Seven years later, Kim returned to work after her daughter, Anna, started school. Kim feels behind at work because she wants to anchor the news, not write it. Her boss, Mr. Whitaker, gave her an opportunity, but she froze on live TV. After a taping, Kim overhears Julia updating Mr. Whitaker. Her son has pink eye, so she can’t go on the eclipse assignment. Kim pleads with Mr. Whitaker to give her a second chance. Mr. Whitaker agrees, but it will be her last chance to anchor. As a favor to the family, he’s making an inexperienced Reed the segment producer. Kim asks the camera person, Claire, to accompany them.
Meanwhile, Malcolm gears up for the eclipse, but his teaching assistant backed out. So he asked his friend, Travis, to come. Malcolm hopes Dr. Longford will be in attendance. Malcolm wrote a book, but has been unable to find a publisher for it. If Dr. Longford writes a forward, it could entice publishing companies to take him seriously. Malcolm can’t believe the solar eclipse is happening again, in a different direction. He remembers the previous eclipse fondly.
Kim arrives at the hotel and shoots footage. However, she fumbles over her words. She asks Reed for guidance, but he offers nothing. Claire offers to splice something together when another reporter, Steve, asks Kim to leave so he can have daylight. Kim doesn’t see Travis and Malcolm behind her. Travis stumbles with the equipment as Malcolm offers assistance. He never sees Kim turn around. This moment won’t be the last time Kim and Malcolm miss each other. Will their stars align to find true love?
This out-of-this-world movie embraces facts with feelings. Kim loves the science behind the stars because her mother had a passion for astrology. Malcolm wants to remind the world that science and magic co-existed. The writers had their love follow the same path. They crossed at one point in life, and now, they must cross at that same moment again. It becomes frustrating to see them almost meet each time. However, clumsiness, people, and masks get in the way. As they miss each other, others around them fall in love. These love subplots help fill out the story and bring the couple together during the hectic conclusion. This film balances humor with science, but the dialogue loses its luster in the middle.
I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars
What are the odds of that – Kim
Well, I think we’re done here – Malcolm
It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish – Claire
