The Dating App Killer: The Monica White Story – Review
The Dating App Killer: The Monica White Story – Lifetime – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Monica White will have an empty nest for the first time. She and her ex-husband have been divorced for several years, and soon her son, Isaiah, will leave for training camp. Monica’s friend, Lila, suggests that Monica start dating again. Monica doesn’t consider it until Isaiah says the same. Lila proposes that Monica join the 21st century and use a dating app. However, Monica prefers the old school way. After several failures, Monica joins an app and gets a message from Anthony. Monica thinks he’s a bit too young and lives too far. However, she can see them being friends. So, she answers, and a flirty exchange starts. In a hotel, Anthony killed his next victim and left her body in a shopping cart. He has Monica on the hook and plans to kill her next. Will Monica escape the lure of the Shopping Cart Killer?
The writers introduced the viewer to Monica during a pivotal moment in her life. For the first time, she is alone and has freedom. She isn’t keen on online romance scans, but her old-school charm allows her to maintain a safe distance. Monica doesn’t know that Anthony is using techniques like love-bombing and parroting to become the man of her dreams. This story is Monica’s narrative. So it doesn’t focus on why Anthony kills, but on his techniques. Viewers put themselves in the victims’ shoes to witness red flags firsthand with this storytelling technique. You even get to see one woman walk away because she was rude and upfront. This movie will teach you to watch the warning signs and proceed with caution.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars

Mark is a man on a mission. His body count won’t disappoint the Lifetimer’s bloodlust. No one is safe from this deranged dad-to-be. Lila misses clear signs, but viewers know she hasn’t had the best judgment. Luckily, Robin is her voice of reason. This movie will make Lifetimers yell at the screen and laugh inappropriately. And yes, you get the famous tag line during the conclusion. This film won’t be a favorite in ‘The Wrong’ series, but it entertains.

An Unstable Marriage – Review
An Unstable Marriage – LMN – 2 hours and 0 minutes
Caitlin married Lucas and moved to his working ranch, Magnolia Hills. Lucas’s daughter, Ripley, keeps the city slicker at a distance. She openly mocks Caitlin for violating stable rules. Caitlin brings lunch to Lucas and hears him arguing with riding coach Greg. Greg was a former Olympic rider, and the moms flock to the ranch so he can teach their daughters. Madison is the ring leader, and her daughter, Kristin, cringes at her mother’s antics. Jolie left town for a while to care for her family. She returned and is fully committed to helping her daughter excel at riding. Caitlin speaks to a potential client, Ainsley, while walking through the stables. Ainsley doesn’t think the deal will work because Caitlin has a bad reputation. As Caitlin explains the rumors, a horse neighs behind her. Ainsley perks up because she was a rider. Caitlin invites Ainsley to the stables to meet the horses. Caitlin hangs up the phone and greets ranch hand Thomas. The moms love flirting with him.
Caitlin discusses using the ranch to host events with Lucas. He tried in the past, but Greg turned down all his ideas and threatened to leave. Caitlin starts to feel ill and takes a pregnancy test. She’s pregnant and tells Lucas. However, his reaction is more lukewarm than she wanted. Later, he confesses that he believes it’s too soon, but he’s happy to be a father again. Caitlin wants to wait before they start telling people, and Lucas agrees. Lucas kisses Caitlin before taking his horse, Prince, for a ride. When a bloody Prince returns without Lucas, Caitlin panics. She calls the police, and Detective Louis investigates Lucas’s family, the staff, and the riders. While Louis questions Caitlin, everyone searches the grounds. Caitlin reveals she’s with child, and Louis considers the stress of the ranch and new family drove Lucas away. However, Caitlin refuses to imagine Lucas would leave her and Ripley behind. Days later, Caitlin makes a startling discovery. She uncovers Lucas’s body in a haystack. Everyone considers Caitlin the number one suspect, even Ripley. Can Caitlin prove her innocence?
First, let’s give credit to the person who created the title. A horse movie with a shaky marriage, using ‘unstable’ in the title, is witty. Second, the plot feels aimless until the end, when the killer gives their monologue. Then, viewers will understand that most of the film is a misdirection. However, some characters’ side glances and statements will give them away. The writer had a solid understanding of ranch culture and rules. Ripley also isn’t an ordinary bratty teen. She has a reason to be upset and expresses herself in the 2nd act. The culprit’s motives aren’t unique, but the final fight scene is dramatic.

The Way to You – Review
The Way to You – Hallmark – 2 hours and 0 minutes

Emma creates pottery as she talks to her sister, Hazel, and Hazel’s husband, Sid. She wants to find a guy who is reliable, driven, and ready for love. However, her career as a gallery manager introduces her to flaky artists. Sid jokes that her ideal man sounds like a finance bro. Hazel believes that Emma can meet one, but she has to enter their world with intention. Men in finance travel early in the morning to the finance district. Hazel tells Emma to take the morning train and flirt. Emma grits her teeth while agreeing to Hazel’s plan. Emma meets a cute guy on her first day of intentional flirting. Before she can give him her information, the train door shuts, separating them.
Conrad breaks up with his girlfriend, Maya, after 4 weeks of dating. He never felt a spark and dreamed of a whirlwind romance like his parents. He will continue to look for the special woman and work until their paths cross. Conrad exits the train and finds his favorite book on the ground (FTC Affiliate Disclaimer). He picks it up and waits. Emma walks past him, while another woman looks around the platform. Conrad hands her the book, and they talk quickly. She walks away before Conrad gets her name or phone number. Conrad tells his boss, Lance, about the encounter. Lance suggests putting an ad in the free commuter newspaper. Conrad writes about their electric meeting and invites her to reach out.
Emma sits on the train while a woman beside her reads Conrad’s post. She believes it’s the man she met earlier, looking for her. She returns home and responds to the ad. Conrad gives Emma a date and a time to meet. They meet at the coffee shop, but realize they are not the person the other is looking for. Emma likes Conrad’s enthusiasm, and he likes her direct approach. They talk, and Conrad remembers the woman wearing a unique ring. Emma knows the artist. She offers to help him find his mystery woman. He, in turn, offers to introduce her to the right finance bro. Fate brought them to someone else, but can love bring them together?
This movie embodies ‘be careful what you wish for.’ The writers gave Conrad and Emma the correct match on paper, but viewers can see the writing on the wall for both couples. When everyone sees that Emma is falling in love, they encourage her to move forward with Conrad. But she resigns to being a true friend. She’s honest when she finds Conrad’s dream woman and cries when they connect. While Conrad thought love would be instant, he learns that bonding takes time. This film has a slow pace and depth, but the jokes fall flat. It isn’t a strong start to the 2026 Loveuary season, but it’s a compelling plot.

I was rounding down – Emma
But you’re 35 – Sid
